NOTICE: INVITATION TO BID

Scope of Work. The Work consists of:

ORG 055 - Thomas J. Rusk Middle School

1. Replace exterior waterproofing / sealant joints (include all exterior wall control / expansion

joints, material transitions, around door & window frames, wall penetrations, etc).

2. Paint all previously painted exterior surfaces & power wash as required. Provide new

landscaping & sidewalk replacement as required..

3. Replace 2-ply modified bitumen roof system.

4. Perform mild detergent medium pressure wash on stained or mildwed facade.

5. Replace outdated exterior windows with new energy efficient window assembly per DISTRICT

STANDARDS.

6. Replace educational casework in all classrooms (excluding science labs) per DISTRICT

STANDARDS. (Include

7. Replace teaching surfaces (marker boards, tack boards, etc) at each classroom.

8. Replace carpet / vinyl composite tile (VCT) and base throughout facility excluding all main

corridors, auditorium, and athletic areas. (Include ACM abatement where applicable & except

at areas of renovation).

9. Paint all previously painted interior surfaces. Repair / patch walls prior to paint (except at areas

of renovation).

10. Remove & replace cracked concrete sidewalk.

11. Replace rooftop DX units.

12. Replace split system AC units.

13. Replace chilled water pumps.

14. Replace exhaust fans.

15. Provide DDC controls.

16. Replace lined ductwork.

17. Provide VFD on chilled water pumps.

18. Replace fan coil units.

19. Provide washer/dryer connections.

20. Provide hose bibbs.

21. Replace grease waste piping.

22. Replace waste piping.

23. Provide / replace IDF/MDF air conditioning.

24. Replace fire alarm system.

25. Provide exterior lighting controls.

26. Replace exterior lights with LED lighting.

27. Provide secure front vestibule.

28. Provide intercom system.

29. Provide new marquee sign located at front entry per DISTRICT STANDARDS.

30. Provide new way-finding site signage.

31. Provide new room graphics and way-finding signage.

32. Replace air handling units

33. Replace Kitchen hood and exhaust

34. Replacing condensing boiler

PRE-BID & LOCATION:

A pre-proposal meeting will be held at Thomas J. Rusk Middle School on 08/19/2024 at 4:00PM for all

interested parties. This meeting is not mandatory, but information discussed will be extremely helpful in

preparation of the proposal.

All general contractors and sub-contractors are encouraged to attend this meeting. Contractors will meet A/E(s) and

PM at the school to start site tours. The first site tour will take place immediately following the pre-proposal. The

following is the schedule for each site tour:

BID-DATE & LOCATION:

All Construction Services construction procurements must be physically delivered to the Construction Services

office, at the Linus D. Wright Dallas ISD Administration Building 9400 North Central Expressway, Suite 800 Dallas,

TX 75231. (Call 972.925.7200 for directions). Delivery to other locations will result in rejection of a CSP.

Completed CSP Package Part 1-A, 1-B and 1-C are due on Wednesday, 09/11/2024 at 2:00 PM (local time).

Completed CSP Package Part 2 is due on Thursday, 09/12/2024 at 3:00 PM (local time).

Any materials received after the respective closing dates / times will not be considered.

The District will open and read the names of the proposers and prices submitted in responsive CSPs beginning at

3:00 P.M. local time upon submittal of Part 2 of the Package, via zoom at Dallas ISD Construction Services, Linus

D. Wright Dallas ISD Administration Building 9400 North Central Expressway, Suite 800 Dallas, TX 75231.

No further information will be officially released until after the date the Agenda is publicized for the Board of Trustees

briefing.
